Marketing | Social Media Intern

Full Job Description

Woke Chicago creates access to trauma-informed movement & mindfulness programs within under-resourced communities. We are looking for someone who is taking marketing and looking to work for an impactful non-profit helping Chicago communities, while gaining experience and credits for school.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with a non-profit, and excited to put their skills to the test through marketing and social media. 

The work you will be doing with WOKE embodies the deep roots of what yoga really is, and how it’s related to social justice. You will learn about how mindfulness directly affects our mental health, and the importance that it's available for everyone. 

There are many ways to gain valuable hands-on-experience in the form of internships, fieldwork, or shadowing opportunities. 

Internship Eligibility Requirements

  • Internships are open to high school Juniors, Seniors & College students

  • Internships are paid ($100 per month) and students may be able to receive course credit from their educational institution

  • Schedule to be determined to fit candidate’s availability, the requirements of their educational institution, and course credit requirements

  • Currently accepting Spring/Summer 2022 internship applications, ability to accommodate will be determined by field placement and ability to meet safety requirements within the program

Job Description

  • Manages the company’s social media accounts and posts content, using our templates.

  • Brainstorms ideas for marketing and social media.

  • Monitor various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, Eventbrite.

  • Analyzes analytics to gauge the success of campaigns.

  • Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, our mission, our donors, fundraising goals, and all other aspects of what we do.

  • Engages with donors, and potential donors and provides easily accessible ways for people to donate. 

  • Provide suggestions to management for improving donor experience on social platforms and internal processes.

  • Creates exciting ways to get volunteers engaged, and sign up.

  • Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems.

  • Assists in creating performance reports.

  • In Person Requirements: 2 hours/week plus free attendance to our yoga Sunday classes.

  • This position will include working with one other social media intern, with direct contact with the executive team who will help guide and mentor. These hours can also go towards school credit if needed.
